Good oral hygiene helps prevent tooth decay and inflammation in your gums that can become serious.

During your cleaning appointment, the hygienist will use a scaler or cavitron to remove plaque and tartar on your teeth. After your teeth have been thoroughly cleaned, the hygienist will polish your teeth to reduce staining and surface irregularities thereby reducing plaque adherence.  Lastly, fluoride varnish will be applied to make your teeth stronger and prevent cavities.
